Arturo is a Spanish FILM DIRECTOR AND EDITOR based in London working in fiction and narrative documentaries.
In January 2018, he released his DIRECTORIAL DEBUT FEATURE DOCUMENTARY, 'Hard as Indie'. The film tells the story behind the spanish film 'The Cosmonaut' and the three filmmakers who made it happen. It was well received by viewers and critics alike, getting great coverage in Spanish national media. 'Hard as Indie' is available for free on www.hardasindie.com.
He co-directed with Paul Romero Méndez the short film 'Ruth', starring Ania Marson and Leslie Ash. The project was selected by Directors UK and ARRI as part of their 2020 TRINITY Challenge and has won in multiple festivals, including BIFA and BAFTA qualifying film festivals.
Arturo has experience working as 2ND UNIT DIRECTOR in documentary and fiction. He recently worked on the Spanish/Italian co-production 'Ídolos', produced by Warner Bros. Pictures España and releasing in cinemas in January 2026. He was also an ADDITIONAL EDITOR in the film.
In October 2020, he was selected as a finalist for the Sir Peter Ustinov Scriptwriting Award with his TV script 'Grasping at the Shadow'. The annual international competition is organised by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation.
As an EDITOR, he works across both documentary and fiction, with credits on theatrically released films for major studios and acclaimed independent productions in the UK. He has worked with award-winning directors like Michael Winterbottom, Mat Whitecross, Tom Dumican and Alex Holmes.
He's currently editing a feature documentary on Lily Allen, directed by Mat Whitecross, and due for theatrical and streaming release in 2027.
Arturo is a member of BAFTA Connect, BFE, Directors UK and a BIFA voter.
